An Intimate and Stylish Historical Home

This former manor house retains its historic beauty with a fresh injection of groovy mid-century modernism, bringing traditional architectural fundamentals into the 21st century.

Located in the Fundão municipality between Natural Park of Serra da Estrela and the regional protected area of Serra da Gardunha, this 17th-century manor house once belonged, for several generations, to a prominent noble family. It was then inherited by the mayor of Fundão, José Trigueiros. 

It was in ruins for decades, before being restored and completely transformed into a contemporary design hotel and bed and breakfast by the current owners. Combining an unexpected fusion of unique contemporary design and vibrant colors with the historic stone and classic proportions, the contrasts create a modern take on traditional hospitality. 

With just 10 double rooms, the hotel is intimate and quiet and allows you to appreciate the rustic charm and tranquility of the region.

The nearby district of Castelo Branco features vast plains, beautiful medieval monuments and charming gardens dating back to the 12th century. 

Don't miss the Historic Village of Castelo Novo and the village of Alpedrinha, the museum of Moagem-Cidade do Engenho e das Artes, the Archeologic Museum of Fundão and the Gardunha Forest Park. The deep Zêzere Valley and the Cova da Beira are also within a short drive.
