How Do I Set up My Cancellation Policy?
Cancellation policies are a vital part of any booking system so we've made them easy to set up and adjust.
BoutiqueHomes provides six standardized options for owners, ranging from Strict to Flexible.
Your payout timeframe is tied directly to which cancellation policy you select and is clearly labeled. For additional information, please click here.
- With five simple policies tied to payout dates, hosts will never have to wonder when they'll get paid. It takes out all the guesswork.
All refunds are subject to a credit card fee of up to 3.5%.
To get started, once you’ve logged in, select My Properties from the top of your dashboard. This will open a drop-down menu. Select which property you’d like to update.
This will bring you to the properties main page. Simply select which property you want to update, or click the Edit symbol on the far-right-hand side.
This will bring you to the Accommodations page.
- If your property has more than one accommodation, choose which one you'd like to adjust.
- If your property only has one, simply click Edit again.

Now, on the property editing landing page, there are different categories to the left. Select Policies which is listed second.
Here you will see all the policies written out for you, along with how each impacts your payout timeline. If you click View Chart, you'll receive a great visual breakdown of refund timeframes and leniency.
- If you click on the help question symbol, it will state that what is shown initially is the default. To change a policy on an individual accommodation, you can do it on that property's accommodation policies page.
To select, simply scroll down and click on the white circle to the left of whichever policy best you choose. Be sure to read each policy, with its details and payout information thoroughly.
- Reminder: this will automatically default to the Moderate policy.
Please note: Only the Strict50 Cancellation Penalty offers hosts a split payout option.
We understand many owners prefer to include a flat cancellation fee. That option will still be available.
After scrolling through the five policies, there is a box labeled Owner Cancellation Fee.
- Click in the box and write the additional fee amount here.
Covid-19 Policy is a temporary additional option.
This will supersede all other cancellation policy selections, in the event that the cancellation is a direct result of the pandemic.
- To select the policy that BoutiqueHomes has provided, simply click on the box to the left of that policy.
- This policy is similar to our Relaxed Policy, giving the guest 14 days to cancel with a full refund, but we recommend reading thoroughly prior to selecting.
- To craft your own policy, click the box on the second option, then fill in your own policy.
Most importantly, when you’ve finished, scroll to the bottom and click Save
