Designed by Silves based studioarte, this luxury villa in Portugal is located on a hill surrounded by orange groves just outside of the former provincial capital of Silves. Completely renovated in 2017 the house has been given a modern but serene makeover and is comprised of two separate structures that frame the pool terrace on three sides.
Echoing the traditional villas of the region, both the facade and the interiors are crisply whitewashed with large windows, high ceilings, and interconnected rooms that flow in an elegant and timeless design, creating an airy and light ambiance.
Expansive and bright, the common areas inspire communal living with a lounge and dining room punctuated by a dramatic horizontal fireplace adjacent to the state of the art kitchen. The two suites and three double en-suite bedrooms can sleep up to 10 guests.
The decor is minimalist and chic, with unique one-of-a-kind pieces and a sense of luxury and understated sophistication.
The terrace becomes the second living room, with an outdoor kitchen and dining area and a lounge corner situated around the pool, from where you can admire the far away views and spectacular sunsets.

AROUND
Situated along the Arade river, Silves is one of the oldest and most historically significant cities of the Algarve. From the ancient Moorish castle and 12th-century cathedral to the great cafes and outdoor markets, the village is compact and walkable to take it all in.
This is also a great spot from which to explore the coast, the countryside and the Monchique mountain from where you'll have a view from the highest point in the Algarve. Or switch gears and make the short hop over to Lagos for a vibrant bustling town awash in surfers and great food and nightlife. If you ever wanted to learn to surf there are some great breaks here but also gentler more user-friendly ones where you can take your time and perfect your curl.
