Inspired by the Silk Road
The beauty, history and intrigue of a palace has always fascinated the imagination and this stunner inspired by the legendary adventures of Marco Polo and the Silk Road is a sensory experience that details the architectural and historical connection between east and west.
Set above the Dalmation coast in the medieval walled city of Korcula, this 18th century former bishop's palace commands the views over old town, the Adriatic and the neighboring islands in the distance. Legend has it that the town is the birthplace of famed explorer Marco Polo and was the starting point of the famous Silk Road trade route.
Taking several years of painstaking restoration, the structures were revided and redesigned by an Asian-Croatian team of architects and interior designers inspired by the ancient cultural route. Preserving the original features and historic authenticity, the palace has been reborn as an intimate and luxurious hotel and beautifully integrates design influences from around the world.
The five independent apartments each feature self-service kitchens and living spaces with a mix of one, two and three bedrooms and private entrances. Thematically very different, each of the five apartments draws on the history, heritage and references of the various regions along the route with a rich mix of Asia, India, Italy and Arabia. All of the interiors feature richly detailed and crafted bespoke furnishings and decor with just the right amount of contemporary concepts and amenities.
The restaurant serves a delicious menu of locally sourced and traditional Croatian and international cuisine that you can enjoy on the terraces with stunning views over the Adriatic Bay.

There are two boats available for exploring the archipelago, the neighboring islands and transfers from the mainland.
AROUND
Situated squarely in the pedestrian zone of old town Korcula, the town is perched at the very tip of the island along the Pelješac Peninsula. With a maze of winding narrow streets and a jumble of red tiled residences, the area is charming and historic with access to several good beaches including nearby Korcuola, Lumbarda, Vela Przina, Bilin Zal and Tatinja.
The interior of the island features good hiking routes especially around the village of Zrnovo and the neighboring islands make good day trips by boat. It's a three-hour drive and boat transfer from Dubrovnik.
