Surrounded by 15th-century walls concentrated around the two main squares: Piazza del Popolo, and Piazza della Libertà, Faenza has been famous since medieval times for the production of majolica ceramics (make a stop at the International Ceramics Museum for a look at rare pieces spanning centuries). There are plenty of trattorias and cafes to keep foodies entertained and Summer brings the town center alive with "Summer Tuesdays”, and “Maggio Faentino” with festivities and events, traditional crafts, and local food and wine.
