A World Heritage site, the city is undergoing renovations by UNESCO and includes beautifully preserved buildings including both the Sponza and Rector's palaces and the walled fort.
Grab a cable car up to Mt. Srđ for spectacular views. Known as the "Dubrovnik Riviera" the nearby harbor towns of Cavtat and Mlini are charming coastal villages that offer a beachy cafe society. Danče beach (Plaža Danče) and the rocky bay is ideal for nature lovers and is one of the most popular and oldest beaches in Dalmatia and Dubrovnik.
