Architect Silvio Bailo & Designer Emmanuel Roncati Breathe New Life Into An Early 20th Century Country Home
Restored and designed by Emanuela Roncati, this villa for rent in Italy combines the refinement of a country manor with an eye for contemporary design. We love the expansive airy spaces, the beautiful natural materials and the stylish but light-handed approach to design.
Set within the countryside in Alessandria province, this villa for rent in Italy is a spacious and stylish retreat. Renovated over a four year period by architect Silvia Bailo, who specializes in architectural design, restoration, and conservation, and the interior designer Emmanuel Roncati, the property has been given new life and personality without sacrificing its original character.
The three-storey main house has been expanded to amplify the usable space and retrofitted with natural sandstone on the ground floors and wood on the upper floors giving it a natural palette that perfectly matches the white and soft accents.
The ground floor features multiple living spaces with cozy fireplaces and comfortable corners for relaxation and conviviality as well as several dining areas. The kitchen extends out towards the garden through a greenhouse that opens completely to the scents of the countryside giving the sensation of being immersed in nature.
On the upper floor and in the side wing are seven bedrooms with room for up to fourteen guests with windows and doors throughout that cancel the division between interior and exterior space.
Interior designer Emanuela Roncati has furnished the home with a skillful collection of vintage and modern pieces in a relaxed and elegant style.
The large gardens, also redesigned and made more harmonious by the skillful work of De amicis architects studio offer plenty of space for entertaining and relaxing with a beautiful bio pool and a huge patio furnished with comfortable sofas for lounging and taking in the countryside views.

Located halfway between Genoa and Milan, the small village of Capriata d'Orba lies within the Alessandria province in Piedmont surrounded by hills and valleys traversed by rivers. Bordered by the Torrente Orba Natural Reserve and the Capanne di Marcarolo Natural Park, the area is rich in unspoiled wilderness of both alpine and Mediterranean landscapes.
A half an hour north is the provincial capital of Alessandria with UNESCO designated religious sites, 18th-century palaces, and the famous Cittadella. The thermal spa town of Acqui Terme is a half an hour west and is both enchantingly historic as well as contemporary with excellent restaurants, cool boutiques and a thriving artistic community.
Don't miss the Roman remains and artistic monuments in nearby Tortona or the remarkable castles in Ovada just twenty minutes from the villa.
