Built at the end of the 18th century, this vacation home rental in Italy is a great example of the typical Venetian country houses where big families lived all together through the generations.
Located in the countryside just thirty minutes from both Venice and Treviso, it’s an ideal spot to be able to access and enjoy both cities away from the crowds.
The two-story home has changed very little in 300 years, with the rustic beams, old stone, and the weathered patina of history still very evident following restoration.
Recently featured in AD Interiors, the home is the work of an artist and interior designer couple who have assembled a dazzling array of distinctive art, furnishings and unique pieces from around the world with great style and artistry.
The ground floor living spaces are moody and atmospheric with a fireside lounge opposite the dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs are four bright double bedrooms that sleep up to nine guests.
The grounds are leafy and peaceful, with large grassy areas and a wisteria covered pergola for relaxed outdoor dining and entertaining. Here, you're likely to spy the resident garden cats who enjoy the company.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Wifi throughout, laundry facilities, kitchen and bath amenities, private parking.
AROUND
Equidistant between Treviso and Venice, the countryside and villages of the Veneto region are a quiet and rarified location to be able to visit both cities. Dating back to Roman times and known locally as ‘Little Venice,’ Treviso is an ancient walled city with tranquil waterways formed from the River Sile and a central commercial and business hub of great artistic and historic beauty.
Just 30 minutes south is Venice with its dreamlike maze of canals and epic grandeur. Awe-inspiring in its opulent beauty and artistry, the city moves at a languid pace where you could spend endless days in its network of canals, narrow backstreets and secret passageways, marveling at its cache of historic treasures (although tourism is at an all time high and you might want to time your visit wisely). The rural landscape of nearby Veneto and its wine regions are ideal for quieter day trips.
