A Contemporary Home Modeled On The Villas of The Past
Located in the quiet Var region of France, this villa for rent in Provence is situated just outside of the little village of Claviers an hour from the Cote d'Azur. Set within beautifully designed gardens and surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, the house looks out across the valley with village and mountain views.
Designed with the same principles of historic villas, the home was built using exposed timbers, whitewashed walls, and rustic tile with high ceilings and airy open spaces that connect seamlessly.
The main living area is bright and comfy with oversized glass doors that open out to the balcony which runs the length of the house. Divided by a two-way fireplace, the room connects with a spacious eat-in kitchen ideal for entertaining and dining on the covered terrace.
There is a library/study/media room with a sizable collection of books for guests to peruse, and two adjacent double bedrooms, one of which has a balcony that connects to the front terrace. On the floor above, is the luxurious en suite master bedroom, with stunning unobstructed views and a lovely deep tub for soaking them in. The fourth en suite bedroom is across from the master and is ideally suited for kids with two single beds and a sofabed that can also be made to accommodate a couple.
Outside it's all about recreation and relaxation, with a large pool and lounge decks with safety fencing for the little ones and a shady boules court. There's also a BBQ for fun alfresco cooking and dining.

The little village of Claviers is within walking distance and overlooks the Riou river and the valley below. A typical French village of narrow streets and medieval history, it is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves and makes for a quiet out of the way visit.
Long considered the "European Grand Canyon," the nearby Gorges du Verdon is only forty-five minutes from the villa offering great swimming, canoeing, rafting, hiking, and plenty of outdoor adventure. The well-preserved villages of Callas and Bargemon are close by with great shops, wine tasting, and cafes, with the glittering towns of Cannes, Nice, Cap D'Antibes, and St. Tropez just over an hour south.
