Located in the heart of a lovely small village in the Luberon valley, this newly restored and completely redesigned country house offers only glimpses of its historic past and has been redesigned as a very contemporary home.
Now two stories high, the original stonework remains only in the yard and has been replaced by industrial concrete that adds a sleek glamour and polish to the interiors.
The ground floor includes the main living room with an unusual custom made fireplace, a dining area that seats six, and an elegant gourmet kitchen in black.
Furnishings and decor are thoroughly modern and kept to a minimum allowing the space and unique vertical design to shine. Freestanding stairs lead to the two bedrooms, one with a balcony and a corridor that features a sliding wall partition.
There is a small and charming front yard with a dining area enclosed under an arbor and a large back yard with a pool and lounge deck that is a private and peaceful spot to enjoy fun in the sun.
THE LUBERON'S GOULT VILLAGE
Located in the charming village of Goult, there is a bakery, a butcher's shop, a grocer's shop, a café with a corner bookshop, a weekly market (on Thursday), and four delicious and varied restaurants here to enjoy.
There are also great hiking trails accessible directly from the property from where you can cycle up the Ventoux through the gentle hillsides, vineyards, and tiny scenic roads. Some of the local villages and towns not to be missed include: Gordes, Oppede, Roussillon, Menerbes, Lacoste, and Bonnieux along with a few more discrete hidden gems such as Joucas, Saignon, and Lourmarin.
Avignon and the charming Uzes and “Pont du Gard” are just a short drive to the west and the Mediterranean sea is just over an hour away.
