Although expressly contemporary in design, there's still a nice traditional Alpine vibe here that makes it a rustic wilderness retreat. Perched high above the valley floor in the pristine Hohen Tauern nature preserve, this home is part of a larger installation designed by Munich-based architect Andreas Meck. Immersed in nature but with warm contemporary style and modern comforts, this home will be your private sky-high nest.
Simple and stylish, the horizontal silhouette and cantilevered design mimics the horizon with walls of south-facing windows to capture the amazing views and the maximum amount of sunlight.
Concrete, pale wood, flagstone floors, and light filled interiors are stylish but understated for a sense of relaxed living. It's a spacious but intimate home with two units that can be rented altogether or separately, with a ground floor quarters and private bath and an upstairs bedroom with a sliding door that separates it from the main living area.
The freestanding tub in the upstairs bedroom affords another great spot to soak in the views, and there's a sauna and spa for warming your bones during the winter. There are two gourmet kitchens at the ready for all your meals.
The free-floating terrace will make you feel the height and affords an unobstructed view all to yourself.

Each unit has a fully equipped kitchenette with tea, coffee and some basic groceries, Nespresso coffee maker with 10 capsules, private sauna with oils, towels, bathrobe and bed linen, free wireless internet access, flat-screen TV with hard drive, and parking in the garage.

Situated on the central eastern slopes of the Alps, the home is high above the Zell am See valley and lake in the Salzburg state. Just over an hour outside of downtown Salzburg, you are also nestled into the largest national park and nature reserve with world class skiing pistes, hiking and wilderness.
