We love Bordeaux, and this authentic French country house blends beautifully with the countryside. With peaceful views from every room and the vast landscape, this is country living at its tranquil best.
Nestled into a hillside on a full hectare of private land, this graceful home has 360-degree views across the countryside. Designed by the architect to capture the magnificent and lush landscape within total privacy, Villa Duras is a serene retreat. From the orchards and wisteria vines to the distant pastures, this home is a meant to appreciate nature.
The post and beam architecture, arched entries, alcoves and promenades are a nod to the past but with updated amenities. The spacious entry hall leads into an elegantly appointed living room of comfort, art and sophistication, with high ceilings and lots of light.
The adjacent library and media room is time away for entertainment and reading while the large dining room is the place to gather and enjoy some of the finest local food and wines together. The kitchen is compact and well equipped with state of the art appliances and everything you'll need for family meals. Multiple french doors open to the terraces, gardens and pool for an indoor outdoor lifestyle.
The large master bedroom features an en-suite bath, shower room, and private dressing area. Two additional bedrooms on the opposite side of the villa provide an enormous amount of space all with lovely views and private access to the terraces and pool. Two of the bedrooms can be connected or separate all with en suite showers.
The pool area is one of the highlights of the home. 11m by 5m, it's large enough and geometrically designed for either swim or play. This part of the garden is a secluded and intimate outdoor space with plenty of lounges and seating for tanning, snoozing under parasols or dining al fresco.
The owner's enthusiasm of the local culture and decor are reflected in the interiors and were lovingly decorated with detail and warmth to make you feel at home.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
With everything to make you feel at home including a large flat screen satellite TV with DVD player, Wi-Fi, fully stocked gourmet kitchen with Nespresso machine, comfy furnishings for up to six people and heated floors. The pool is heated between June and September and features a safety alarm.
There is a washing machine, tumble drier in the adjoining laundry/pantry and a spare cot that sleeps one. We've also thought of the kids and have included a high chair, swings, toys and table tennis.The home has a state of the art security system.

Located in the heart of Bordeaux's famous wine country there are plenty of vineyards for tastings and tours. The picturesque village of Duras is a short drive to excellent dining and shopping and the local farmhouses and countryside perfect for exploring. A quiet country setting, Villa Duras is made for relaxing.
LOCATION
Located in the southwestern Bordeaux region of France in the village of Duras, Villa Duras is a short train ride to Toulouse and Bordeaux via the St. Foy la Grande station. The small local Bergerac Airport is close by with Bordeaux Airport (73 km), Angouleme Airport (117 km), or Toulouse Airport (149 km) being the larger hubs. The nearest train station has regular services to the center of Bordeaux.
