This vacation home rental in Los Angeles is located in the rustic enclave of Topanga Canyon, which is nestled between the Malibu coast and the city. If you want to experience everything that LA has to offer but at a slower pace (and surrounded in nature), this is the location for you.
This house, built in 2006, was designed by Jay Vanos, a renowned Los Angeles architect. Its design and interior were done by @MerchantModern. The home has a variety of vintage designer and mid-century modern furniture, original art and ceramics from southern Californian artists, mixed with family treasures, Japanese pieces, and textiles from travels to Morocco.
Owned by a couple who were inspired to design a creative hideaway away from the bustle of the city, it is a comfortable, modern sanctuary with expansive views of nature. Located in the Santa Monica mountains, it offers the best hiking in the area right on its doorstep, as well as quick access to the Westside, the San Fernando Valley, and the Malibu coastline with its iconic surf breaks. It is surrounded by spacious decks and spectacular views.
This vacation home rental in Los Angeles has three bedrooms. The master suite on the top level has its own expansive deck, and all with bedrooms open onto their own patio/deck areas.

Please note: the house has two full kitchens as the lower floor of the house can be separated off as a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit. It can also be kept open as a 3-floor, 3-bedroom house.

Set above the coast in the Santa Monica Mountains, Topanga Canyon is a bucolic and peaceful mountain community that straddles the Pacific coast and the San Fernando Valley. Featuring the largest state park within city limits in the US, there are miles of wilderness and land to explore. It’s just a short drive to Malibu or Santa Monica and a half hour from the greater Los Angeles area.
There is a walking loop directly off the property and numerous beautiful hiking trails. Malibu beaches and iconic surf breaks are a 15-minute drive from the house.
