A Trullo Among the Orchards
Surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and fruit orchards, the formerly primitive huts have not lost any of their historic charms and are a remarkable example of prehistoric construction techniques that have allowed the buildings to survive through the centuries.
Discovered and gently restored by a couple who returned to their beloved Apulia after years away, they again settled in their native land and set to work creating a warm and welcoming retreat, to share the simple rural life and the beauty and culture of the region.
Updated with thoughtfully designed contemporary touches and finishes combined with rustic furnishings, and the beautiful stonework, the home transports you back in time.
The spacious sitting room includes a fireplace and there's a large fully-equipped kitchen that also features gorgeous handcrafted tile from nearby Grottaglie. There are two en suite bedrooms and a twin room that sleeps up to six guests.
Set in almost five acres of private land, the gardens are full of edible fruits and herbs with shady terraces and a pergola with lounge areas around the swimming pool, perfect for a relaxing stay surrounded by nature, culture, and good food.

PUGLIA'S VALLE D'ITRIA
Located within a few minutes the lovely old town of Ceglie Messapica, renowned for its excellent cuisine, it's one of the oldest towns in Puglia and its gastronomic heart. Come for the amazing food fest in August and the summer food festival in nearby Carovigno at the end of July where the very best of the region is on offer and the d’Ostuni la blanche market on Saturdays. From Michelin starred restaurants to simple cafes and shops, the area is a foodie mecca.
Ideally placed for exploring the enchanting Valle d’Itria, the picture-postcard villages of Martina Franca, Alberobello, Cisternino and Locorotondo are some of the most well preserved and fascinating in Puglia. Grottaglie, world-famous for its ceramics lies just twenty minutes away.
The white city of Ostuni is also close by. Described by Lonely Planet as “a pearly white tiara”, it extends across three hills, with a cathedral centerpiece, and boasts a great selection of bars and restaurants.
The house is also just a short drive to some of Puglia’s loveliest beaches on both the Ionian and Adriatic, offering stretches of sandy bays and the highly recommended WWF nature reserves.
The charming little fishing harbour of Savelletri is a half hour away and the amazing Torre Guaceto nature reserve includes both protected marine and wilderness areas perfect for exploring the coastal beauty. And don’t miss the Grotte di Castellana, an extensive karst cave system, that is one of Puglia’s most popular attractions.
The port town of Brindisi (and final stop along the famed Appian Way) is forty five minutes southeast while the stunning Baroque city of Lecce, known as the Florence of the South, is an hour south.
