Perched on a bluff above a crystal clear cove, this villa for rent in Spain, is located in one of the most sought-after and exclusive areas of the Costa Brava. Nestled into over two acres of forested gardens, the majestic finca enjoys a privileged spot with spectacular views of the sea.
The traditional hacienda has an old-world feel, with spacious, rambling rooms on the ground floor including a sunroom that spans the entire front overlooking the scenic views.
The living room and sitting rooms are separated by archways, leading to a library, and a formal dining room adjacent to the fully-equipped kitchen.
There are 10 bedrooms (five en-suite) with room for up to 20 guests. The expansive grounds are beautifully landscaped with several terraces, dining spaces, and quiet lounge areas for relaxing, along with a bluff side pool for refreshing summer dips.
THE COSTA BRAVA
One of the most attractive towns on the Costa Brava, Platja d'Aro's stunning coastal scenery of golden sand beaches and coves with crystal clear waters, are among the best. The town's main promenade is the central meeting point where you'll find excellent restaurants, shops, cafes, and nightlife and is the spot to stroll along the shore. The summer months are the time to catch the many festivals with their Gegants and popular dances as well as the musical festivals of Perellada and Cap Roig, and the colorful fireworks in the town of La Bisbal.
The Costa Brava is bordered to the north by the beautiful and protected Garrotxa region and to the south by the Gavarres national park, surrounded by some of Catalonia's most breathtaking natural and coastal beauty. The many beaches in the area are just a twenty-minute drive. Don’t miss El Canadell, a hidden gem of a beach in the picturesque fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell.
Thirty minutes north, Girona's small medieval city and university town sits along the River Onyar where the walled Old Quarter (Barri Vell) features the ancient Roman rampart fragments of the Vella fortress woven through the tiny streets and alleyways.
The area is also home to the authentic and picturesque medieval towns of Besalu, Figueres (home of surrealist painter Salvador Dali), Santa Pau, Castellfollit de la Roca, Olot and Alta, all in less than an hour's drive. Going back over two thousand years, the ancient Roman Road route is a fascinating drive through the region.
