Located in the small village of Zrenj, in Croatia’s northern region of Istria, this stone holiday home features two individual units, each created to connect guests to the local landscape through color.
The stone complex blends into the rural area of Istria, with its exterior of bone-toned, regional stone. Other leading landscape shades include white, grey, red and green, hues the owners have separated into two design palettes and used as inspiration for each independent apartment’s artful interior décor. The two units feature wide windows and a contemporary décor vibe, with pendant lamps, quality textiles, and large abstract canvases on the walls.
This vacation home rental in Croatia has two separate units, Alba and Cinerea, which can be booked independently or together. They do not have an internal connection, and each has its own kitchen, living room with dining area, bathroom, separate toilet, and a bedroom for two guests.
Both feature a white-to-deep-grey design palette and face southeast. The two lodgings are distinguished by their color. One apartment tends toward the charcoal end of the grey spectrum, with dove grey walls and floors and deeper grey upholstery and furnishings. The second unit mirrors the first in terms of layout and design, but features cooler, light grey walls and furnishings, and punches of colorful art and décor accents.
The units of this vacation home rental in Croatia share a rural outdoor space distinguished by a generous infinity pool lined by sun loungers, a landscaped rock garden, and a rural landscape beyond. There’s an outdoor barbecue grill, and each apartment’s terrace offers a place for alfresco dining.
Please note that the owners live on-site, but will be completely separated from the rental units.
AROUND
Located in the region of Istria, near the Slovenian border, Zrenj is a rural outpost offering tranquility and plenty of local and regional color. Hilly and agricultural, the region is forested and pastoral. Cycling—both road biking and trail riding—is a popular tourist attraction, as is visiting the area’s quaint country villages, inns, and taverns. The region is known for its much-celebrated white truffle, and the town of Livade is the truffle capital with an annual festival each October, though truffle hunters also search the famed woods near the villages of Buzet and Motovun.
The nearby medieval village of Groznjan has been a haven for artists and creators since the early 19th century, and Terra Histria’s owner offers guidance for visiting the surrounding countryside. The property also features an on-site aromatherapy studio where guests can take workshops at an additional cost.
