This elegant and spacious country house, perched on a hill above the Duras vineyards, sleeps up to 12 guests, making it perfectly suited to extended families or groups of friends. It's large enough to share but also has enough space for everyone to tuck themselves away from time to time – whether it's with a good book on one of the many sofas, or snoozing under a tree in the lavish grounds.

This traditional home has been given an impeccably tasteful refresh, using a soft, warm color palette with strong, clean lines, which highlights the exposed beams and beautiful stone floors of the original structure. What makes it so appealing is the little surprises, from the Acapulco chair tucked into the kids' bedroom to the mustard-colored molded dining chairs, and the works of art by local artists that hang all over the house.

The spacious grounds are perfect for spreading out in and keeping the family busy. Choose from the large, heated saltwater pool with its 12 sun beds, table tennis table, badminton court, croquet space, and formal lawns that are great for throwing a frisbee or picnicking.

This villa for rent in France has six large bedrooms. The two largest on the upper floor have king-sized beds, walk-in closets and their own bathrooms with clawfoot tubs. The other bedrooms are on the middle level; three have king-sized beds and en-suite shower rooms, while the fourth has twins and a bathroom with tub, making it ideal for children.

There is a large well-equipped, modern kitchen and a dining table that extends to sit 12 guests. The main living room, with its feature fireplace and board games, has enough space for the same number. The upstairs landing serves as an additional living room, with a TV and games console, but there are also sofas and bookcases in hidden hallway nooks that offer tempting spaces to curl up in.

AROUND

There's plenty to do at this villa for rent in France, but should you decide to venture out, you'll find the Vigiers golf course only 20 minutes away by car. In addition to lovely grounds, it has an award-winning spa and two restaurants, one of which has a Michelin star.

The owners recommend a visit to one of the local brocantes or flea markets, tours of the World Heritage Sites at St Emilion or Bordeaux, a kayak trip down a local river, biking the country roads, wine tasting, a day at Arcachon and the Dune de Pyla (the highest sand dune in Europe), or pulling up a chair in a pavement cafe and watching the world go by.

Cancellation Policy	Firm The guest will receive a refund if the booking is canceled at least 60 days before the time of check-in. If the guest cancels 30-60 days before the start of the stay, they will receive a 50% refund. If they cancel within 30 days of the start of the stay, no refund will be given. All refunds are subject to a credit card fee of up to 3.5%.
Notes	A security bond of at least €1,200 is held in case of damage. Heating of the swimming pool before May 27 and after September 23, 2022, is subject to a supplement of €200 per week. For 2023 heating the swimming pool before May 20th and after September 22nd is subject to a supplement of €300 per week. Additional cleaning is available on request at an additional charge. Fresh bedding supplied weekly. During spring and autumn, shorter stays – four or five days – may be possible as well as flexible changeover days.
