Civil engineers created the home, so the efficient space incorporates a cohesive selection of natural stone and woods, iron, and paved floors that link the interior spaces with the outdoor terraces. Located on one of the most popular and largest of the Cycladic islands, this villa for rent in Greece occupies a secluded spot in Paros’ southern Makria Miti coastal area, only a few minutes’ drive from Alyki village. The latter is famed for its fisherman’s port and sweet beach, and delectable taverns with their fresh catches, daily. All necessary services are available in Alyki, too, and three pebble beaches are walking distance (5-10 minutes) from the home.
Paros is famous architecturally for its Parian marble, a white stone quarried since antiquity that is the material for classic Greek sculpture and numerous modern construction features. The quarries are open to visitors and the notable stone is also on view in the island's archeological sites and art museums. Water and waterfront sports outfitters are abundant on the island, and activities include swimming, cycling a designated coastal path, hiking, scuba diving and snorkeling as well as kite- and wind-surfing and waterskiing. Rentals are available in Pounta Port, a favorite spot for surfers.
Historical sites on the island include the traditional village of Lefkes, the isle’s medieval capital, the Byzantine monastery of Panagia Ekatontapiliani, the ancient cemetery by the sea in Parikia, and the Agios Ioannis Detis church, a whitewashed Cycladic chapel topped by a bright blue dome.
