Think Ostuni, Puglia’s celebrated “white village.” Echoing the crested town’s whitewashed look, this single story modern villa is a minimalist retreat of newly built sharp angles inserted into the wild, red-soiled, olive-rich countryside with a reflective swimming pool at its heart.

Built with “il dolce far niente” as its guiding focus, this contemporary country getaway invites unwinding at its architectural core. An infinity pool occupies the villa’s center, with both shady and sun kissed siesta spots surrounding it. Simplicity rules in the curated interior design by Studiotoff, a Dutch studio, who’ve created a sophisticated, clean lined setting with an uncomplicated Scandinavian sensibility, a modern rural escape outfitted with a cool grey Vipp custom kitchen holding olive oil from the property’s trees and wines from neighboring vineyards.

AROUND

A fifteen-to-twenty minute drive from the property lands you in the “white village” of Ostuni, a postcard-pretty village occupying olive grove blanketed hillsides. The home is set in a sea olive trees at the end of a country road and makes a sophisticated base for exploring the region, including the crystalline waters of the Adriatic Sea and its rock-studded, coved beaches, the nature reserve of Torre Guaceto, and the lively historic port towns of Polignano a Mare and Monopoli. Puglia is famed for its dry stacked, conical trulli homes, former agricultural storages that today are mostly fairtytale private getaways dotting the rural landscape. Thousands of trulli are concentrated in and around Alberobello, a UNESCO classified location that’s a quick trip away. Other picturesque villages of note nearby include Cisternino and Locorotondo. The nearest beach is about a half-hour’s drive away along the Adriatic Sea, while the Ionian Sea, filling the space between Italy’s boot heel and toe, is a bit further afield.

Cancellation Policy	Strict50 The guest will receive a refund if the booking is canceled within 24 hours of making the reservation (grace period). Covid-19 Policy	Only in the event the cancellation is a direct result of the pandemic (government orders the stoppage of vacation rentals or the authorities decide to restrict travel from the country of origin or to the country where the property is located), guests will be given the opportunity to receive full credit for their reservation if they rebook within one year. If the guest is unable to take the credit, the guest will receive a full refund if the booking is canceled at least 14 days before the arrival date. If the guest cancels 1 -14 days before the start of the stay they will receive a 50% refund. If they cancel within 24 hours of the stay, no refund will be given.
