This unique, C-shaped getaway immersed in the Dutch forest is clad in Cor-Ten steel, curved around a courtyard and natural swimming pool, and bathed in a 5,500 square meter woodland that's earned it much applause.

It’s a bold architectural creation—a perfect penmanship “C”-shaped cabin—clad in steel, lined with wood, and built around a central courtyard that seems like a private lake pier with its own waterfront bungalow-like bar. Featured in Dwell magazine, the half-hexagon is a cool kids forest romp, with added eco credibility and an interior design nod to mid-century modern styling.

The distinctive C-shaped retreat consists of five spaces, each designed for form and particular function. There’s the central elevated kitchen and ground-level dining room and lounge area, with the letter C’s end points hosting bedrooms and ensuite baths. Patinaed Cor-Ten steel creates a russet exterior that melds into the landscape, while interiors are lined with untreated Fraké wood for a modern cabin appeall. An inner garden and courtyard open to the wooden deck, which in turn leads to the 12-meter natural lap pool, filtered by lava stone and yellow irises. And beyond the water, forest and heathland, crossed by hiking and mountain biking trails, extend out of sight.

Located in a tight clearing in a 5,500 square meter forest outside the village of Rijssen, the cabin makes for the perfect natural getaway for urbanites. The contemporary cabin offers hiking and biking trails crisscrossing the immediate forest outside. A classic Dutch community, the area around Rijssen is rural and picturesque, known for its dense, old-growth woodlands. Known as Holland’s Schwartzvald, or the Black Forest of Holland, it has romantic roads and country lanes that meander under the thick forest canopy. Tall leafy trees create an outdoor ceiling of green, so lace up your hiking boots and hit the trails.
