A Bold Lake Garda Estate Fit for a Crowd

With its five bedrooms and four baths, this country estate overlooking Lake Garda combines steel, stone, dark oak wood, clay plaster and glass for a strikingly modern take on alpine vernacular. Each room offers an impressive lake view, and the villa’s location at the end of a road ensures absolute privacy, with plenty of space for a big family or friend group to spread out.

Two king bedrooms offer en-suite bathrooms and dressing rooms. Two queen rooms share a bath and hall WC, and an independent apartment features a queen-sized bed with a lounge that can be converted into a separate bedroom if needed. The house also has a small kitchenette and private bathroom. Terraces outside the bedrooms extend the big window views, and there’s a covered lounge area outside a pair of bedrooms.

The home’s kitchen is outfitted with a Gaggenau appliances and natural stone countertops, and its generous island makes for great casual gathering and sipping selections from the wine fridge (with bottles for sale).

Outdoors, a six-meter-long covered dining area was created for feasting, with panoramic lake and olive grove views, with the heated pool stretching out below the home and an open fireplace occupying a covered terrace. Four double sunbeds dot the olive and citrus grove garden, and sun loungers line the terraces, the upper level “Sun-Downer” terrace promising stellar sunsets and cushy seating, plus an outdoor shower. And the green lawn beckons for game playing, exercise and simply unwinding.

Note: The access road to the property is steep and has potholes in places. Low-clearance vehicles are strongly discouraged.

Located above the lake via an eight-minute walkway without vehicles, the home sits on a hillside slope that fronts a river near the waterfront community of Toscolano Maderno. There are a pair of public swimming spots at the path’s end in Toscolano Maderno, and the town is set on Lake Garda’s “Rivieria dei Limoni.”

Located about 40 kilometers from the main city of Brescia, the area sits within the boundaries of the Parco Alto Garda Bresciano, on a promontory. The town’s harbor and the Maderno bay are beautiful sites, both with boats bobbing in the shadow of Monte Pizzcolo and the Monte Castello di Gàino. Hikers and mountain bikers can take to the hills, leaving directly from the home, and the Bogliaco Golf Course offers 18 scenic holes an easy drive away.

A weekly market brings Toscolano-Maderno to life each Thursday, with local oils, wines, and lemons, the latter one of the town’s famed regional products and the reason for its “Lemon Riviera” place name. There are two host-recommended restaurants walking distance from the villa. The Rimbalzello tennis courts offer a place to play lakeside in the neighboring town of Barbarano. And boats for hire are available up and down the lake’s shores.
