A Villa in Le Marche Rebuilt from Ruins
Located within a secluded country setting down a small farmer's path, this villa for rent in Le Marche is surrounded by rolling hills and fields with 360-degree panoramic views. Brought back to life after hundreds of years, and reconstructed on the site of the original 18th-century rural farmhouse, the home harks back to the rural country life as it has been practiced here for centuries, with a luxuriously understated revamp.
The ground floor living area is spacious and bright, with an open fireplace, a dining-room with a large, convivial space for 12 people, and an open fully-equipped modern kitchen. One of two en-suite master bedrooms is also on this level. The second floor includes an additional en-suite master bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bedroom ideal for kids to share.
Outside is a private country oasis with a large covered terrace and dining area with a barbecue and pizza stone, and lounge areas with lovely views. The pool features an immersed beach ideal for small children surrounded by heritage gardens of olive and fruit trees for guests to help themselves.
Activities can be organized on demand: private chef, cooking lessons, truffle hunting, guided trekking, vineyard tour and wine tasting, and a boat trip on the Conero.
Good to know
Located in the middle of nature, Casa Fontegenga was designed and build with sustainable material and energy efficient systems. The villa is fully powered by solar energy with thermic solar panels for hot water, floor and pool heating and photovoltaic panels with a battery for all electrical appliances. It can operate without gas, combining modern technology with an environmentally conscious approach.
The garden is fully fenced and the entrance door is operated with a remote control. If you have visitors, we of course have a videophone.
Around
Halfway between the sea and the hinterland, surrounded by breathtaking countryside, you are just a few minutes to the Adriatic coast and the Conero Riviera outside of the medieval village of Mombaroccio.
The unique landscape of the coastline includes the white cliffs of Ancona sculpted by the wind, with long sandy beaches and hidden rocky bays and the “velvet beach” of Senigallia. This region of the Marche is dotted with picturesque villages and rolling hillsides along with the sophisticated city of Urbino. Don’t miss the “Grotte di Frasassi” and the nearby Gradara Fortress.
If timing allows, don't miss the Rossini Opera Festival in August in Pesaro, the historic Palio in Cagli (August) or the truffle markets in Acqualagna and Pergola every Autumn.
Location
Mombaroccio, Le Marche, Italy. Nearest airport: Ancona (60 km)
Best time to visit
