A Marriage of Tradition and Design in an Ancient Stone Trullo Retreat
Unfolding room by room, this designer retreat offers three bedrooms, two en-suite bathrooms plus a half bath, both indoor and outdoor kitchens, and an infinity pool.
Inside the original trullo part of the home, two bedrooms are carved into alcoves of the ancient stones. One bedroom is a larger queen room under curving ceilings with a bathroom (shower). The other is an Apulian classic, an intimate queen bedroom under a classic conical trullo roof that shares the bathroom. The third bedroom is also a queen with an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower.
In the common areas, sleek Italian design comes into focus. There’s a black kitchen that contrasts with the villa’s white walls, a lounge with a pair of sofas and designer lighting and minimalist furniture, and oversized French doors that open to a shaded gazebo, a full open-air kitchen and alfresco dining room and the 40-square-meter infinity pool with its own lounging gazebo furnished with couches. An outdoor shower completes the picture, with ancient olive trees and wild Mediterranean gardens offering insulating privacy.
