Following years of exploring the region and yearning for the simple life in nature, the New York based couple who built the compound found the over sixteen acre site of lush jungle along the Pacific shore. Secluded, private, and a little wild, they set about building the ultimate getaway that combines the luxuries of a resort with the barefoot style and comforts of a casual beach hideaway.

Colorful, exotic and elegantly designed, the villa has all of the traditional charm and style of Mexico, with many eye catching details to complement the tropical setting.

Situated just above the Pacific on a rocky point overlooking the shore, this luxury beach house in Sayulita is the ultimate indulgent hideaway. Part of a large 16-acre compound, the home was carved out of the lush jungle by a New York City-based couple looking to switch gears and escape to nature.

The striking and colorful design seamlessly blends modern architectural lines with traditional Mexican style in expansive spaces that provide wonderful inside/outside living. The main palapa overlooks the beach and lush tropical gardens and is an inviting focal point to gather for dining and lounging at the Tiki bar or poolside.

There's a large fully equipped dine-in kitchen complete with chef, and two large bedrooms with huge palapa roofs that share a hottub with view of the sunset. From the main living area, a wooden bridge leads to a tower with three additional guest bedrooms. Hidden among the tropical palms is another secluded bedroom set over a wine cellar grotto for Tuscan style dining.

Facing the terraced gardens and pool areas, you'll have a front-row seat for amazing ocean and sunset views as well as bird watching (green parrots, Black-throated Magpie Jays, Macaws and even Chachalacas) and seasonal whale watching. 

It's a magical and very relaxing compound designed with an appreciation of the natural environment and some stylish luxuries that give you the best of both.

AROUND

Just 10 minutes from the white sandy beaches and the charming former fishing village of Sayulita, this section of the Riviera Nayarit is home to both great local culture and great natural beauty. The area is inhabited with abundant wildlife and marine life with opportunities for amazing whale watching and bird watching right from the property, along with most water and outdoor sports just steps away.

The Sierra de Vallejo wildlife refuge is also part of this region and offers some of the best eco-tourism activities around. Head east to the Sierra Madre mountains, or out to the iconic Los Arcos National Park and the protected marine preserve of the Marieta Islands. 

The quaint beach town of Lo de Marcos is a short walk or drive away and offers small beachfront restaurants, shops and markets as well as a town square that hosts colorful traditional cultural events, music and dances. The buzz of Puerto Vallarta and the seaside towns of Punta Mita and San Panco are just a short drive south.
