Pereira Miguel Arquitectos work across housing, interiors, and rehabilitation in a practice built on material honesty and considered proportion. At Quatro Ventos, that translates into open-plan living spaces anchored by a fully equipped kitchen, large apertures that track the light from morning to evening, and an indoor fireplace that makes the house just as persuasive in October as it is in July.

Tina Razdan Hertzke's interiors bring warm wood surfaces, soft furnishings in natural tones, and a palette that draws from the landscape. The kitchen is well-equipped for the whole day, mornings that start slowly and evenings a round the table. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, with mosquito nets fitted throughout.

Three terraces step around the south-facing garden, the largest arranged around the pool with sun beds and a sundowner lounge. An outdoor dining table and a separate seating area make the garden function as a second living room across most of the year. An outdoor shower connects pool to garden. The plot is fully fenced, offering complete privacy. There are three bikes in the shed for Carvalhal runs or the beach path.

Casa Quatro Ventos offers a sleek yet tactile coastal sanctuary just a 10-minute walk from the windswept sands of Pego Beach. Designed by acclaimed architect Luis Pereira Miguel, with warm woods and earthy textiles by designer Tina Razdan Hertzke, the single-story home is flooded with gorgeous natural light that tracks through massive south-facing windows from morning to night. The outdoor lifestyle here is utterly addictive. You can grab one of the three provided cruiser bikes for a quick ride into Carvalhal village, spend lazy afternoons drifting between the pool and the sundowner lounge beds, or rinse off under the outdoor shower before an open-air dinner on the covered terrace.

Layout

This vacation home for rent in Comporta sleeps up to five guests in three bedrooms and three bathrooms across a single-floor plan. The kitchen, dining area, and lounge run together as one open volume. Large glazed openings on the south elevation connect interior to exterior across the living areas. Three terraces (one covered, one pool-facing, one for outdoor dining) extend the usable space considerably. A fenced garden wraps the perimeter.

Good to know

Casa Quatro Ventos is open to guests aged 12 and over only. No smoking anywhere on the property. Pets are not permitted. Weekly housekeeping is included at no extra charge. A car is essential as Carvalhal village is a three-minute drive, and Comporta and Melides are a few minutes further. Pego Beach is within walking distance, but the wider region is best explored by car or on the three bikes provided.

Pego Beach, with its four kilometers of Atlantic sand, is a 10-minute walk from the house. JNcQUOI Beach Club sits directly on the beach. Vincent Van Duysen designed the space for the Lisbon restaurant group, and it shows. For something simpler, Sal has been serving grilled fish and seafood on the beach for years and remains the most-trusted name at Pego. Carvalhal village, three minutes by car or 15 by bike, covers everyday needs, with cafés, a small supermarket, and restaurants. Comporta village and Melides, each with their own restaurants and design shops, are both within a 10-minute drive.
