An Architectural Gem on Casey Key

This 1969 beach house in Osprey, Florida, was designed by Carl Abbott, the youngest member of the original Sarasota School of Architecture. Founded by architects Paul Rudolph, Gene Leedy and Mark Hampton, the School was an east coast architectural movement that echoed the Case Study House Program on the west coast.

Sights to visit in and around Osprey include Historic Spanish Point (with its historical buildings, butterfly garden, sunken gardens and footbridge), the Legacy Trail (a 10-mile bike path from Palmer Ranch Sarasota to Venice), Oscar Scherer State Park (home to bald eagles, alligators and river otters), and the fishing pier.
