Miami Shores offers a taste of early American suburbia, with its tree-lined streets and tidy sidewalks of single-family residences offset by leafy park spaces. Located a 20-minute drive from downtown Miami and a few miles from Miami Beach, the neighborhood dates from the 1920s and 1930s, and is one of Miami’s originals. The neighborhood has views of Biscayne Bay and its own downtown area, Miami Shores Village, a shopping and dining district that’s also home to the Optimist Park Sculpture Garden, several oak-shaded park spaces with public art installations, and a palm-lined walking path through its own Bayfront Park (not to be confused with the downtown Miami park of the same name).
