Indoor/Outdoor Living In Sayulita
This brightly-colored villa sits on top of a green hill, overlooking the Mexican Riviera, in the small seaside town of Sayulita.
Even though it's newly built, the house still has a traditional Mexican feel, with its bright colors and really cool outdoor living room (and kitchen) under a palapa roof. Inside, the design is contemporary and urban, with concrete floors, white walls, and minimal furnishings. But there are still nods to its location in the beautiful tiles, ornate bathroom mirrors, and decorative lighting.
The villa's one spacious bedroom suite has large windows and great views across the treetops to the ocean, as well as a private bath. The house is surrounded in vegetation, and has its own private garden with a large hot tub, lounge chairs and sun beds.
This vacation rental in Sayulita, Mexico, is perfect for a couple or small family. Larger groups may be interested in renting adjacent properties, together or separately - the 5-bedroom Casa Saturno, and another 4-bedroom house, Casa dos Chicos.
NAYARIT'S ANTI-RESORT
Sayulita is a small town on the Riviera Nayarit, about 30 minutes north of the airport in Puerto Vallarta, reached via the lush foothills of the Sierra Madre.
Originally discovered by surfers who fell for its waves, it also became home to tourists wanting to get away from busier resorts. Today it's a laid-back beach town, free of chain hotels and restaurants, with cobbled streets, taco stands, fruit vendors, galleries and surf shops, as well as traditional Mexican craft boutiques.
Sayulita is known for its variety of sandy beaches, which are great for exploring. The nearby towns of Puerto Vallarta and San Pancho are worth day trips. Other recommended activities include surfing, whale watching (November to June), fishing, snorkelling, kayaking, horseback riding, trekking through the jungle, canopy tours, and mountain biking.
Located at the top of the "Gringo Hill" on the southern edge of Sayulita, the villa is a four-minute walk from the town and Playa Centro beach.
