A Centuries-Old Andalusian Cortijo Overlooking The Mediterranean & North Africa
At this stunning location, you're at the crossroads of where one continent and culture ends and another begins. We love the traditional Andalusian vibe and beautiful property with breathtaking views of North Africa and the sea.
A Centuries-Old Andalusian Cortijo Overlooking The Mediterranean & North Africa
Located in the green hills of Tarifa within Los Alcornocales Natural Park, this traditional Andalusian Cortijo sits above the shore with stunning views overlooking the Straits of Gibraltar and North Africa in the distance.
Restored from the original centuries-old structures, the property features three charming semi-detached cottages nestled into the countryside in a secluded hideaway. The en suite casitas are delightful and completely unique, each decorated in individual style inspired by the earthy colors and traditions of Andalucia.
Each of the casitas sleeps two (with an optional third on the sofa beds) and features private living spaces, kitchenettes, and private terraces with stunning panoramic views of Morocco's wild coastline.
Surrounded by forests of cork oak, wild olive trees, creeping clematis, and wild roses, the property is magical and includes a large shared pool and lovely gardens to enjoy with uninterrupted views of the African coast and the Morrocan Rif mountains and villages.
This is a special spot to relax in peace and comfort and experience the beauty of Andalucia while the ships’ horns blow as they sail along the Straits on their way to the open ocean.
TARIFA'S HORIZONS
Situated just two miles from the closest town of Pelayo and seven miles from historic Tarifa, the house is immersed into the protected Los Alcornocales Natural Park. Famed for its spectacular long white beaches, high sand dunes, and coastal surf spots, Tarifa is also home to the ancient historic Moorish castle, narrow streets and quaint “chiringuitos” and terraced cafes, and laid back ambiance.
You are within a couple of hours' drive to the white villages, the cultural capitals of Cadiz and Sevilla, and the fascinating Roman archaeological ruins of Baelo Claudia. As the gateway to North Africa, the local ferry from Tarifa can take you to the exotic town of Tangiers in under an hour.
