Between Mountains and Meadows
In this chalet, Pedevilla Architects created a structure that is sensitive to its surroundings, opening entirely toward the valley. The design blends contemporary lines with traditional materials, creating an ascetic unity that invites contemplation.
The interior palette is consistently light and local. Floors and doors are crafted from regional pine, while the walls are made of white Dolomite concrete. Soft Loden cloth, a traditional textile, is used for the curtains. In one bedroom, custom stone pine furniture adds a fragrant, alpine touch, while the other features rustic antiques, reintroducing nature and history inside. Features include the Gothic-style chairs with keyhole backs designed by Tyrolean company Haidacher, and a curved coffee table. Large windows let in lots of natural light, and window-ledge recesses make a perfect perch for admiring the snowy backdrop. Guests may spot deer, foxes, and raptors.

The 95-square-meter home is split across two floors. The first floor features a generous living room with a well-equipped kitchen, a sofa group (one converts to a bed), and a balcony. This level also has a bathroom with both a rain-shower and a bathtub. The second floor holds the two double-bed bedrooms, one with stone pine furniture and one with antiques.
