A Resort-Like Stay in Westside LA
On a tree-lined cul-de-sac in Culver City, this 1970s house was stripped back and rebuilt in 2026, creating a great LA retreat for couples, friends, or a family who wants to eat well and barely leave. The heated saltwater pool and hot tub sit within a fully fenced garden with a pool house bar alongside. There are three bedrooms (a king, a queen, and an adult-sized double bunk).
The kitchen is professionally equipped: Bosch refrigerator, gas stove, and oven alongside Le Creuset cookware and a reverse osmosis water filtration system. Purity organic coffee and Rishi tea are provided throughout. Bedrooms are dressed in 100% organic cotton linens with room-darkening shades. Diptyque hand soaps and argan oil bath amenities are provided in every bathroom, alongside a bathtub and bidet. A Bose Bluetooth sound system serves the main living area. A dedicated workspace and streaming-ready fitness corner with yoga mat, resistance bands, and workout blocks means the home functions for both longer stays and weekend visits.
The backyard is the home's main event. A heated saltwater pool sits within a planted perimeter of mature trees that shuts out the street entirely. The pool converts to a spa within an hour on request. A separate pool house holds a stocked minibar. The fully fenced backyard includes a private patio, outdoor dining area, and sun loungers. Two beach cruiser bicycles are available for guests to explore the neighborhood.

Around
The Culver City Arts District and Helms Bakery complex (both walkable from Fay House) hold galleries, independent retail, and a food hall in a 1928 Art Deco building. For dinner, Vespertine (two Michelin stars) occupies a strikingly futuristic red steel building known as the Waffle. n/naka (one Michelin star) offers a kaiseki tasting menu. Destroyer, part science fiction, part breakfast counter, is the neighborhood daytime restaurant, and Father's Office remains the Westside's best gastropub. The Wende Museum (free admission) holds Cold War art and artefacts in a building worth visiting in its own right. The Ballona Creek Trail bike path runs west to the ocean, and the two beach cruisers are the obvious way to do it.
