A 17th-Century Cottage in the Cotswolds
Set opposite a stately Norman Church with an ancient cemetery in a Cotswolds village with a babbling country brook, this property combines original architectural features with modern updates. Think exposed beam ceilings and a stone-walled back garden, plus three updated ensuite bedrooms. There's also a sleek kitchen/dining area equipped with a new island and a traditional Aga stove, with access to an elegant courtyard dining area.
The upstairs bedrooms feature brass beds, one a double, one a queen, and one a king, the latter up a steep staircase. Bathrooms feature walk-in showers and one soaking tub under ancient timbers. Interiors are at once cozy, bright and breezy, with a woodburning stove in a big stone hearth in the living room, and a modern dining area with a banco built into the library. An outdoor courtyard dining area for six extends the remodeled kitchen, reached via French doors opening to the back garden.

There is large area that can be explored on bicycle through the Cotswold landscape. An annual classical music festival is held in Bledington each June, and August sees the fields near town filled with festival goers attending Alex James’ Big Feastival.
