The peaked, heavily timbered buiiding’s exterior retains its picturesque, traditional Alpine look, while the apartment’s indoor space has been thoughtfully updated for simple, practical living, with a focus on sustainability.

A tranquil alpine getaway that once housed livestock within its sturdy walls, this comfortably, if simply, repurposed lodge has been updated with light wood floors, white painted walls, and clean-lined, utilitarian furnishings and fixtures. Colorful tiles and textured upholstery add pops of color and depth to the otherwise simple, practical styling, decorated with a touch of industrial chic.

The perfect base for exploration of the startlingly steep Berchtesgaden Alps, with trails literally right outside the front door, this former stable-turned-home’s modern update is focused on the essentials.
