This two-story hideout combines nature and contemporary design, retro and modern interior décor sensibilities and a structure that's open to its wild setting via floor-to-ceiling windows. There's also a generous, upper-level terrace, and outdoor hot tub station.

Brought to the Laurentian woods by our friends at hinter, this sharp, new arrival, modestly dubbed the hintershelter, stands sleek and sculptural in the shadow of Mont Tremblant. Covered in cedar to age with the forest, this two-story hideout combines nature and contemporary design, retro and modern interior décor, and a structure that's open to its wild setting via floor-to-ceiling windows.

Nature and architecture converge here, presenting a time traveling juxtaposition of global decor influences curated by le centerpiece—a blend of Nordic, Japanese, and European influences from across design eras. Think 60s modernism meets 80s funk, reigned in by Japanese minimalism and softened by contemporary cabin cozy and a playful touch of sustainable chic.

A clean lined, contemporary wood stove and radiant floor heating warm the cabin, an outdoor hot tub offers a window on the woods, and trails for hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, and cycling begin right outside the door. Tesla rental from Montreal is available by reservation.

Set in a clearing in the Laurentian Mountains, about 12 kilometers from Mt. Tremblant village, the cabin is located in prime outdoor recreation country. Hiking, skiing, kayaking and canoeing, snowshoeing, sledding, golfing and fishing, mountain biking and forest bathing and foraging… the possibilities are numerous! The woods cover thousands of acres and encompass the ski resorts of Mont Tremblant and Mont Blanc, the Rouge River Valley, Mont Tremblant National Park, and Lac Long and several other regional mountain lakes. Outdoor activities are all-season, from the expected, such as skiing, snowboarding and winter sports, to the less-anticipated pursuits like falconing, ziplining, and sunbathing on sandy beaches that line the Riviere Rouge.
