A Charming Rural Cottage with Stylish Boho Interiors
There's something refreshingly simple about this villa for rent in Italy. A traditional Pugliese cottage surrounded in olive groves, it brings together old world and new without any unnecessary fuss or clutter. The exposed stone walls, gently curving archways and polished floors nod back in time, while cool design features and a fabulous contemporary swimming pool are very much in the here and now.

Sometimes less is more. And in the case of this lovely villa in the Italian countryside, that is certainly true. A traditional Pugliese home, it has been updated while preserving much of the building's original appeal.
Surrounded by large gardens with multiple terraces, as well as olive groves and fruit trees, it's a peaceful setting that's perfect for relaxation. Curl up in the poolside pergola, or disappear into a hammock...
With its one bedroom and comfy sofas, the house sleeps between two and five guests - and is ideal for a couple, or a small family. This is a home that's made for feasting. The small kitchen is surprisingly well equipped with stylish appliances and cookware - but there's also an outdoor grill. Dine indoors, or enjoy lazy sun-kissed lunches and elegant star-lit soirees under the large olive tree, serenaded by crickets.
We love the retention of the original stone both inside and out, juxtaposed with the strong lines of the whitewashed exteriors (and stunning pool). Interiors, painted in soothing colors, are a cool mix of old and new, and somewhere in-between. A beautiful villa for rent in Italy.
VALLE d'ITRIA
The villa is located on a quiet country road in the Valle d'Itria, 30 minutes from the sea, and 10 minutes from the town of Chiobbica, which has a gas station, supermarket and coffee shop. It is also close to the towns of Cisternino, Martina Franca and Ceglie Messsapica.
Slightly farther afield are Alberobello, a magical town with cobbled streets and the region's famous white conical Trulli; Monopoli, with its golden beaches, clear blue water and lively terraces overlooking the sea; and of course the White City of Ostuni, the jewel of the region, with its whitewashed historic center, filled with boutiques, cafes, restaurants and markets. It's the perfect place to pick up ingredients to prepare back at home.

Chiobbica, near Ostuni, Puglia, Italy. Nearest airport: Brindisi-Salento (45 mins drive), Bari (1.15 hour drive).
BEST TIME TO VISIT: April to October, with the very best season being June to August.
