An Award-Winning Home by Cherubino Gambardella

This villa has been referred to as the “White Pumpkin” and has an interesting origin story. It's based on the redesign of an unfinished reinforced concrete skeleton, and the initial structure controls not only the roof pitch, but also determines the visible concrete framework of the space in the living room.

The stunning appearance of the architecture is molded with a white ceramic mosaic and is separated by two terraces that open the house to the breathtaking view outside. Likewise, we found that the orange at the entrance and the base create colorful accents. Wood finishes are afrormosia wood. 

There are two spacious bedrooms that can sleep four adults, and two small bedrooms that sleep up to four children. The upstairs master bedroom has two large balconies with stunning views, and the children’s bedroom can be reached through this bedroom. On the ground floor, you will find the guest bedroom. The other bedroom has a bunk bed and is considered most suited for children. 

A large terrace surrounds the home and leads to an infinity pool with a deck, a whirlpool, and two outdoor showers. There is also an inner court at the back with zesty lemon trees. 

The architect, Cherubino Gambardella is considered one of the most influential contemporary architects in Italy. The house received the Cersaie Bologna Award in the category of the "Best Residential House" in 2012.  In addition, it is regularly featured in numerous architectural reviews such as Domus and Lettera 21, and Mark.

AROUND  

It is only a 15-minute drive to the beathtaking beaches of Sperlonga and Gaeta. Take a day trip to the island of Ponza, and explore the numerous trails in the Aurunci mountains and by the coastline.

Itra, Italy. The Villa is situated in a small town between Rome and Naples. There are international flights out of Fiumicino and Naples airport.
