With views of the Aegean Sea, it stretches amply across two levels, its geometric structures connected by a striking pair of architectural bridges. The doubling up theme continues across the property, with two swimming pools, two kitchens, a balcony and a set of terraces, with enough space to sleep eight guests. It's all set in a secluded green garden with no neighbors, just 10 minutes from the beach.

A generous Aegean Sea view villa with no neighbors but sheep, this architectural residence dominates a green lot in Crete’s unspoiled Apokoronas region as it rises from a native stone base. With four bedrooms across its two spacious, contemporary volumes, the residence was created for spreading out and slowing down—enjoying life’s pleasures with an abundance of modern amenities.

Only 10 minutes’ drive from local beaches and a half hour from Chania, the eight-guest getaway offers seclusion with a side of contemporary luxury. Once three buildings intended as separate homes, the property's redesign has transformed the property into a spacious modern oasis. There are two kitchens (indoors and out), two pools (one a giant, 30-square-meter one), a jacuzzi and outdoor gym, dining spaces indoors and out, plus an abundance of lounging areas with views of the sea. These range from the cushy indoor living room to poolside sun loungers, both shaded and sun-drenched terraces, balconies, patios, passages, and even sun bed pergolas hung with gauzy drapes.

Around

This residence is in the heart of the Apokornas region, five minutes outside Vamos village, about a half hour from Chania, and just 10 minutes from pristine beaches. The town of Vamos offers a wild natural setting of grassy knolls, rocky outcroppings, blue sea and inland mountains. Chania is known for its 14th-century port area and alley-like streets and waterfront restaurants, but the Apokornas region’s real draw is its unique geography.

From strikingly green lowlands, the White Mountains rise from the aquamarine seas, rugged and rocky. The mountains are cut through with hiking trails and even receive snowfall in wintertime. One of the most popular trails is the Samaria Gorge Trail, accessible only in the warmer months, that wends through secluded villages and dramatic landscapes. This part of Crete’s coastline is also known for its rock-lined coves, and the waters are ideal for swimming, scuba diving, wind- and kite-surfing, and boating.

Area beaches not to be missed include Almirida, Kalives, Kera, Hermans and Vrasco, all five miles or less from the property. And guided experiences, from olive oil tasting workshops to ceramic studios to wellness treatments and even bell forging at a local goat herder’s studio are available in Vamos and Chania. The village has all basic services.
