This newly built trio of local stone view villas lines up boldly along a deep green bluff overlooking Kechria Beach, one of Skiathos’ 60 beaches that’s only a four-minute walk away. Sturdy, locally excavated walls, complemented by steel and glass, hug the rugged hillside, and the three independent homes feature individual swimming pools and alfresco dining pergolas interconnected by stony passageways and staircases.

Strong lines and stone facades come in multiples of three at this newly constructed villa complex where three identical homes offer panoramic views over the Aegean. The bold habitations by 3harchitects line up to create a stone slash across Skiathos’ signature Mediterranean woods. Each villa features its own infinity-edged pool and shaded pergola for outdoor dining and entertainment. Interiors are contemporary and convenient, featuring a low-key coastal décor vibe, seaside color palette, and tailor-made headboards and bedroom closet alcoves. Operable wood exterior shutters on the bedrooms’ glass sliders keep the rooms cool by day and dark and cozy by night.

Created for outdoor play and relaxation, each villa features a dramatic pool terrace overlooking the Aegean and covered alfresco dining patios. Contemporary balconies and angles, featuring built-in bench seating topped with cushions, add to the relaxed, seafront luxury and the connection to the rugged surroundings. Sunset views are among the island’s best.

Each home has a master bed with sea view, a second master with a double or two single beds and pool view, and a junior bedroom with two singles. All have private entrances and en-suite bathrooms. The villas are built next to each other but are not connected, and villa allocation is made on arrival.

AROUND

Dense evergreen woods fill the slopes surrounding these villas for rent in Greece, a rugged mix of fragrant pine and glinting olive trees that blanket this northwestern part of Skiathos. Kechria Beach, a favorite among the island’s 60 sandy shores, is a quick walk away and a traditional tavern is also a short stroll from the homes. Famed for its coved beaches and unobstructed views, Skiathos is blessed with pristine Aegean waters and dozens of inland and coastal hiking trails that cover the island that is equally known for its thick vegetation and clear waters. 

The isle’s capital, Skiathos town (11km away), features a colorful harbor and tile-roofed, whitewashed homes covered with flowering vines. Skiathos town offers vibrant night life and the hit film Mamma Mia! was filmed in part on location here. The island’s notable medieval castle, known simply as Kastro, sits on the northern tip of the island about 5km away. The fortified ruins date back to the mid-1300s, when the castle was erected by villagers fleeing pirates and other invaders. Parissis Winery, a newly opened tasting room of half a dozen local vintages, is just over 5km away.
