A Classic Andalusian Hacienda with a Pool Overlooking an Olive Grove
Built around a central interior courtyard, this typical Andalusian villa includes five independent buildings. In one, a modern kitchen stretches across classic earthen brick floors, and shares space with a living room punctuated by a fireplace. A bedroom and bathroom complete the building. Opposite this structure, two outbuildings are equipped as private suites, one with a lookout up top offering views of the pastoral, five-hectare estate of fields planted with sunflowers and wheat. The property's final two buildings complete the square, one of the two housing a relaxation/cinema space, the other a storage outpost. The house sleeps up to nine guests in total.
Décor is bright, coastal and white, accented by cane, textural linens and ceramics in a subtle earthen palette. Covered terraces flank the pool and are furnished for lounging and easy living, and the rooftop terrace is shaded and lined with built-in sofa seating and plump floor pillows.
Around
A 15-minute drive from the heart of Arcos La Frontera, the property makes a great base for exploring the Andalusian coastal province of Cadiz and the stunning “pueblos blancos” route, a road winding through scenic white villages typical of Andalusia. The striking beaches of Spain's Costa de la Luz are also easily accessible, with white sands stretching between the towns of Cadiz south to Tarifa. The village of Arcos la Frontera offers a labyrinthine cluster of whitewashed houses separated by narrow, flower-filled streets. It’s set on a rocky outcrop, so presents striking views of the Andalusian countryside, a quilted landscape of sunflower and wheat fields, rugged woodlands, and coastal flats. The charming small town offers all services, including dining, bars, bakeries, fishmongers, produce stands and butchers, as well as artisanal boutiques selling local handicrafts. Urbanites can head towards Seville (125 kilometers) for cultural experiences, museums, striking architecture and world-class dining.
