A Pied-à-Terre with Rooftop Views in Saint-Germain-des-Prés
La Citroulette is a one-bedroom apartment on the first floor of a Saint-Germain-des-Prés building in Paris' 6th arrondissement. The apartment is small—the bedroom is compact, the kitchen built for lighter cooking rather than dinner parties—but the location and the light do the heavy lifting. A Juliet balcony captures views over the Parisian rooftops and down into a quiet courtyard. Below is one of the most culturally layered neighborhoods in the city. Luxembourg Gardens, Rue de Seine, and the Mabillon Metro are all within a few minutes on foot.
The living space is compact. The kitchen is equipped for everyday use (hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, espresso machine, kettle, toaster) and suited to lighter meals rather than elaborate cooking. A Smart TV, Wi-Fi, and a dedicated workspace make it functional for longer stays. The bedroom is small but complete, with blackout blinds, good storage, and a rain shower bathroom with heated towel rail and toiletries.
A Juliet balcony off the main living space offers views over the rooftops of the 6th arrondissement. Luxembourg Gardens, Paris' most loved park, and arguably the best argument for the Left Bank, is a short walk away.
What we love
We love that the Juliet balcony gives you two Parises at once—rooftops one way, a quiet courtyard the other. The streets below are Saint-Germain at its most alive: the café terraces on Boulevard Saint-Germain, the galleries on Rue de Seine, the Luxembourg chairs waiting ten minutes on foot. If you feel like venturing out for dinner, Semilla at number 54 is our pick—market-driven, Michelin-listed, and one of the few places on the Left Bank that locals still consider theirs. This is the ideal elegant pied-à-terre for two. Start your day with a tête-à-tête over breakfast and soak up the view.

Around
Saint-Germain-des-Prés earns its reputation, but the part worth knowing is quieter than the postcards suggest. Rue de Seine, a five-minute walk from the apartment, holds some of the neighborhood's best galleries and Semilla, the Michelin-recognized bistro at number 54 whose market-driven kitchen and sharp wine list have made it a fixture for locals and returning visitors alike. Luxembourg Gardens is close enough to be a daily habit. Les Deux Magots and Café de Flore are three minutes on foot, better for a mid-morning coffee than dinner. The Mabillon Metro (Line 10) and Odéon (Lines 4 and 10) cover the rest of the city.
