A Commitment to Art and Vintage Modern Design
This is a charming combination of simple sophistication and edgy modern style. We like the easy mix of vintage design and the raw, stripped down approach that's still bold, eye-catching and engaging.
This maisonette apartment located on one of the most beautiful residential streets in central Valletta, has been completely reimagined in tone, space and materials from its 18th-century roots. Renovated by the owner and architect whose practice is just down the street, it is one of a collection of distinctively designed properties developed and curated by the hosts that highlight their appreciation and commitment to art and vintage modern design.
The apartment overlooks the street scene with a private entry from Strada San Paolo. Its architectural vision, reinterpretation of space, and concrete and mosaic tile finishes are sharp and stylish, showcasing the handpicked selection of vintage decor and furnishings. The apartment features a multipurpose, antique kitchenette island that anchors the open-plan living spaces and serves two in a bright and cheerful breakfast nook overlooking the city streets.
Keeping the spaces roomy and minimal, this beautifully designed one bedroom with its large retro tiled and marble bath is ideal for two and delivers on comfort, artistic style and cool design. For an interview with designers Chris and Hanna Briffa, visit our Stories section here.
Please note: This property is furnished with vintage pieces, and many of its features, including its doors and bathroom, are also vintage. As a result, it has some idiosyncrasies, which the owners outline in their welcome booklet.
