Entertain and Play Outside on the Shore of Lake Minnewashta
Situated on 120 feet of prime Minnesota lake shore, this Lake Minnewashta retreat was created from the ground up and designed by architect Jalin Design. Offering low-key, waterfront living about a half hour the city’s airport and minutes form the prestigious Hazeltine Golf Club, the five-bedroom property overlooks a sandy beach and comes fully equipped for waterfront play.
Three bars, a golf simulator, outdoor putting green, rec room with a poker table, shuffleboard, darts and more join kayaks, paddleboards, sundecks, a long dock and swings to ensure hours of easy, waterfront recreation. Concierge services by request include chef-prepared meals, grocery shopping and delivery, and a boat captain for the Nautique surf boat. The east-facing residence promises spectacular sunsets over the 742-acre lake, viewed from indoors and out.
Layout
Designed to sleep up to 14 guests, the house features two spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, two additional bedrooms upstairs, and a bunkroom downstairs. A beach house annex hovers over the water’s edge below the house, adding living and sleeping space for two.
Around
Conveniently located 30 minutes from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport and just minutes from the world renowned Hazeltine Golf Club, this residence offers 120 feet of private lake shore on the 742-acre Lake Minnewashta. A more “chill” setting than nearby Lake Minnetonka, Minnewashta is known for its waterskiing, complete with a resident managed water ski course along its north shore. The picturesque lake is also the setting of legendary Camp Tanadoona and the newer Sauna Camp, a fall/winter recreation site reachable on foot across the frozen lake in wintertime. Fishing on the lake can be a solitary pursuit from the dock or shore in search of largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye or perch. Or, hire a charter or fishing guide to get you out on the water to drop a line. In wintertime, the frozen lake and its surroundings are popular for ice-skating, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
Downtown Excelsior, a village with a Nationally Registered Historic downtown, is about eight minutes away, offering all services, shops and cafes, and the home is walking distance from the Minnesota Landscape Arboreteum. Boat clubs surround the lake, offering rentals and/or guided tours of the water. The home’s beachhouse is set on a private sandy stretch, with a long dock and swings for kids of all ages. Paddleboards and kayaks are included with the rental.
