This deconstructed boutique hotel has only four rooms, each with direct access to a large beautiful park, and no front desk, though it does offer daily breakfast. Throughout the property you will find contemporary art, modern and vintage design elements. This is a great location to visit Provence and discover Aix-en-Provence, Marseille or Avignon.

Le Jas du Boeuf offers a little luxury, surrounded by hundreds of acres of forests and fields scented with wild herbs and lavender. The property was renovated in 2015 to upsize the beds and add to the amenities (reading lights, cushy furnishings, contemporary art, vintage-meets-modern design accents). Its pool area includes a summer kitchen for light meals and beverages, and daily breakfasts are mostly served on the patio. Wake up and enjoy your included daily breakfast in the courtyard under the almond trees. The delicious menu includes cakes or muffins accompanied by fresh juice, coffee and tea, organic yoghurt, fresh fruit, honey and homemade jams served with toast.
Choose between old stone walls in the beautifully restored sheep barn built in 1848, or modern poolside bungalows. All four rooms have their own private entrances directly from the gardens and patio seating areas. Each sleeps two, with soundproofing and modern bathrooms with walk-in showers.
Borrow a book from the library and read in one of the many shady corners of the grounds, hike up the mountain, stroll along a path or have a meal at one of the great little restaurants that are just down the road. Enjoy the views and fresh air before taking a dip in the heated infinity pool.

Located in the southern slopes of the Montagne du Lure under the clear blue skies of Provence, the B&B is near Forcalquier and 3km east of Cruis a small village with a lot of character. Make a trip to Forcalquier (markets on Monday and Thursday) or Banon (market on Tuesday), which now has the largest independent bookstore in France.
There are several delightful local tables nearby, including Le Plateau in Mallefougasse that you can walk to through the garrigue, a classic regional landscape. Or head to Cruis, just 5 minutes west by car, for the typical village bar or inn, Le Bar des Alpes and the Auberge de l’Abbaye. Diners can also head down in the valley to the town of Montlaux to try Moularain, or a little further away in Sigonce, to sample the fare at Amandier.
