Nestled in one of the most spiritual places, Luz Charming Houses takes hospitality to the next level. Guests are brought into a relaxed atmosphere, inspired by old Portuguese villages, yet beautifully integrated into the present, where they can breathe deeply and focus only on the moment. 

Located in a quiet forested region of the famed village of Fatima in central Portugal, this formerly abandonded village has been reimagined as a unique lifestyle hotel with a collection of charming guest suites where residents can commune with nature in stylish comfort. 

Inspired by the traditional architecture of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the formerly derelict structures were originally built with locally harvested stones, limestone and terra rossa mortar, based on ancient construction techniques dating back to Roman times. 

Restored with an astonishingly meticulous level of authentic and personal detail, each has been modernized with creativity and style and an appreciation for the natural environment and culture. With a mix of 15 rooms and suites, there are a selection of accommodations for two to four guests, each with fully-equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, and furnished and decorated with unique and eclectic handpicked style.

The main lodge serves as a convivial gathering place and houses a bright and cheerful living room with fireplace, a dining area and bar and shop with local grocery products, gifts and crafts. 

The rambling forested gardens are a peaceful oasis of fruit trees, oaks, olive trees and native species of the region and also a natural cave that now serves as a spa and wellness sanctuary. From the ancient hermitage to the cistern and old shepherds keep, this land and its heritage have been lovingly preserved and uniquely developed to be shared.

A deeply spiritual place of pilgrimage, Fatima is often referred to as the "Alter of the World" and the hotel is just one mile from Chapel of the Apparitions and the massive Basilica and shrines. The region is also home to many natural wonders including the Alvados, San Antonio and Mira D'Aire caves that can be reached within a short drive as well as the Agroal nature park and the Jurassic trail. 

Situated in the central region of the Ourem municipality, the UNESCO town of Batalha is a half hour drive and the medieval village of Obidos is less than an hour south at the threshold of the Atlantic. The fishing town of Nazare is less than hour west along the coast, and you are two hours south of Porto and an hour north of Lisbon.
