An Unconventional Hotel in Roma Norte

A colonial mansion on a tree-lined Roma Norte street, Maison Celeste has five guest rooms, each consumed entirely by a single colorway. They sit above a ground floor that operates as a rotating creative platform, with art exhibitions, boutique shops including Coqui Coqui Perfumeria, and a Japanese-influenced restaurant. The 1900s structure retains its original vaulted ceilings, stained glass panels, crown moldings, and hardwood parquet, while its interiors have been redesigned by Mexico City studio ROKHA Estudio as a chromatic playground. All of this in a neighborhood that has become one of Latin America's most compelling design addresses.

An Unconventional Hotel in Roma Norte

Maison Celeste occupies a colonial mansion dating to the early 1900s on Avenida Yucatán 96, Roma Norte. The building's original hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, crown mouldings, and stained glass panels have been preserved, while the interiors were remade by Mexico City studio ROKHA Estudio as a chromatic playground. Five guest rooms are each devoted to a single hue, furnished with pieces by local artisans, vintage finds, and designer finishes. Ground-floor spaces rotate between permanent boutiques and art exhibitions.

Conceived by a collective of entrepreneurs and world travelers, Maison Celeste positions itself as a creative platform rather than a conventional hotel. The grand entrance opens into an octagon-shaped great hall that branches into intimate boutique and art spaces. Each of the five rooms has a single colorway: cobalt, moss green, ochre, pistachio, and emerald. Celeste arranges curved cobalt-blue armchairs in a conversation pit configuration. Musgo applies a botanical theme with mid-century modern furniture. All rooms have air conditioning, Smart TVs, rainfall showerheads, premium bedding with down duvets, and laptop-friendly workspaces.

A garden and sun terrace sit within the mansion's original grounds, functioning as an extension of the ground-floor creative program, with events spilling outdoors during Art Week and other cultural festivals. The on-site restaurant's outdoor seating area allows guests to dine within the property.

What we love

What we love about Maison Celeste is its concept. It's a space built around the idea that a great stay and a great cultural experience are not separate things. Each of the five rooms commits entirely to its own hue and personality, furnished with carefully selected, locally made pieces. And then there's the service—run by a small team who understand that the best hospitality is the kind you only notice when it's absent.

Layout

This boutique guest house in Roma Norte, Mexico City, sleeps up to 12 guests across five rooms. Maison Celeste offers five individually designed rooms across the upper floor of the mansion: Celeste, Musgo, Pistache, Ocre, and Alba. Four rooms measure 36 square meters each. The Alba suite spans 65 square meters across two bedrooms connected by a third room, with a sofa, antique dining set, and a built-in wraparound desk. All rooms have private en-suite bathrooms. There is no lift, but the ground-floor boutiques and restaurants are stair-free.

Experiences

On-site: rotating and permanent art exhibitions, curated boutique shopping Meteora, a Japanese-influenced restaurant and an international cuisine restaurant open for lunch and dinner, full breakfast delivered to rooms daily, yoga classes, and a wellness offering. Concierge can arrange restaurant reservations and local transport.

Around

Maison Celeste shares its block on Avenida Yucatán with some of Roma Norte's most respected restaurant addresses — Expendio de Maíz, Parnita, Paramo, and Salon Palomilla are within a few doors, and Goodbye Folk, the neighborhood's beloved vintage store, recently relocated to the same stretch. Roma Norte itself is Mexico City's most walkable design neighborhood, dense with independent restaurants, concept stores, and gallery spaces. Parque México is roughly 15 minutes on foot, and Condesa is equally close. Paseo de la Reforma and the Angel of Independence Monument are within a five-minute drive. Chapultepec Castle and the National Museum of Anthropology are approximately 10 minutes by car. A car is not required for daily exploration of Roma Norte or Condesa.
