A Charming Guesthouse in Beirut's Arts District
This little hotel is a cosy gem, tucked away in the arts district of Beirut. We love its welcoming atmosphere and quirky playfulness.
Many years ago, an Italian man fell in love with a Lebanese woman and moved to Mar Mikhael in Beirut. Half a century later, their grandson, a Lebanese filmmaker, renovated their 1940s house and turned it into a guesthouse, offering visitors a unique way to get to know his city.
This small guesthouse has only four bedrooms that can be rented together or individually. Rooms are differentiated by color. The Twin/Orange Room has a pop-art feel, with bold splashes of red and orange. There is also Blue Room, with simple, sophisticated decor and a bold red bathroom. The Yellow and Green rooms have more subtle, muted tones. Each room features art that reflects the owner's love of cinema.
The property has a cheerful communal living area, with brightly-colored art, a lovely blend of modern and antique furniture, and access to an outdoor terrace. The owners live upstairs and are on hand to help with guests' needs, whether practical or fun. This is definitely a home from home.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
There is air conditioning. There is a restaurant on the ground floor of the guesthouse.

This property is located in Mar Mikhael, 10 minutes' walk from downtown Beirut. Mar Mikhael is Beirut’s art and creative district, with some of the city's most interesting art galleries, bookshops and designer stores. In spite of being in the center of the big city, it has an arty, villagey feel.
Mar Mikhael's old train station is located just next to the house. The neighborhood is also ideally located between Achrafieh, Gemmayzeh and Beirut’s ‘Little Armenia’ (Bourj Hammoud). The owners recommend walking the neighborhood to enjoy the Lebanese village atmosphere.
