In the Highlands of Antiparos
Nestled into a remote hillside but within easy walking distance to the fabulous Soros Beach, this vacation home rental in Greece is designed with the colors, textures, and evocative beauty of the Cyclades Islands.
Surrounded by a spacious private garden, it offers serenity and seclusion with stunning panoramic views of the southern coast of the island and the deep turquoise lagoon between Antiparos and neighboring Paros.
Designed with a contemporary feel, it nevertheless uses the age-old beauty of stone, whitewashed limestone and wood of historic residences, and captures the spirit of island style.
A generous and comfortable open-plan sitting room connects with an adjacent media lounge with a fireplace and the fully-equipped kitchen with a sunny breakfast nook.
The rooms are furnished with an elegant, rustic style with deep saturated blues, gold accents, and eclectic decor that's sophisticated without being stuffy.
Each of the four en suite bedrooms has been uniquely designed and detailed in different themes. At the very top of the house is the Bougainvillea suite. Airy and light in soft pastels, it offers panoramic views from its private roof terrace, while the ground floor Lagoon suite features a private stone terrace entrance that leads directly to the pool area.
The brightly styled Canary suite is an intimate suite for two and the ground floor Marine suite is a larger accommodation built for two, with lots of light and its own garden terrace entrance, which leads directly to the pool area.
The shaded stone cabana and lounge area beside the pool is the spot to beat the heat and enjoy the views, and there's an adjacent outdoor kitchen with a large BBQ space and dining area for meals poolside.
A covered seating area is nestled within the olive grove and offers a peaceful spot and unparalleled views for relaxing or evening cocktails.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the housekeeper and a selection of groceries, as well as a moderately stocked bar is included. Housekeeping is including twice weekly.
Fresh fish can be bought in the village every morning and the owners are happy to point you in the direction of one of the island’s best shops and butchers for locally sourced products.
A QUIETER DISCOVERY IN THE CYCLADES
Just off the coast of neighboring Paros, the tiny island of Antiparos has barely changed in thousands of years and is a quieter way to enjoy the more provincial side of the Cyclades. A less-traveled island, it offers a restorative experience in nature as well as an interesting view of island culture.
Set just above one of the island's best beaches of Soros, the shore is a five-minute walk from the villa where you'll find warm, turquoise waters and a couple of casual beach bars and cafes.
The nearby village of Agios Georgios is a five-minute drive and has several more good tavernas recommended by the owners.
The main port town of Antiparos is within a fifteen-minute drive and is filled with busy cafes, bars, small boutiques, and a large variety of restaurants that stay open late into the night.
Encompassed by the sparkling Aegean there are a multitude of beaches and sheltered coves scattered around the island including Psaraliki, Vathios, Glifa, and Panagia, and because of its size, they can be typically be reached within a half-hour.
