Enter the home through a spacious entrance with a luminous glass ceiling and follow the industrial-style staircase to the rooftop terrace with its white banquette seating inspired by Canary Island artist and architect César Manrique. Stop to take in views of the ocean, the Arico valley, El Porís lighthouse and the Arico wind farm.
Then walk through the glass doors into the open-plan living space with its floor-to-ceiling windows. We love the wishbone dining chairs, the rattan poufs, the Turkish cushions, and the way the micro cement ascends from the floors into the structure of the bathrooms.
The house sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms, making it perfect for a family.
AROUND
This vacation home for rent in Tenerife is located in the coastal village of El Porís de Abona. Located away from Tenerife’s touristy southern side, it's a friendly, laid-back village that’s a favorite of locals. There are no hotels in town, which helps to retain the area’s authenticity. A local village promenade leads to the black sands of Playa de Porís de Abona, for snorkeling and surfing, and there are numerous spots for diving in the area.
There are open air farmers’ markets, and the weekend market at El Médano comes highly recommended, along with the town's beachfront cafés. The owners also recommend the neighboring town of San Miguel de Tajao for eating out with its numerous excellent fish and seafood restaurants.
The area is known for award-winning wineries that are located in the mountains, including Bodega Cumbres de Abona. The nearby mountains are also great for climbing and bouldering.
