A Joshua Tree Hideaway

If you've been itching to explore the Mojave Desert, you're going to a gig at Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown, or you just want to get away from it all, this is a great vacation home for rent in Joshua Tree. It sleeps up to six guests, has a chef's kitchen and boasts a really cool outdoor space with barbecue and Jacuzzi.

A Joshua Tree Hideaway

This desert home was recently built from scratch, and has a fun and cozy mid-century modern feel. Located in Yucca Valley, within minutes of the world-famous Joshua Tree National Park, it's also close to Pioneertown and a day trip from Palm Springs.

The house is surrounded in desert landscape and its extensive grounds, large deck and Jacuzzi make a great place to unwind in at night and watch the stars. Interiors have high ceilings, an open-plan layout, modern furnishings and some fun contemporary art.

A highlight is the kitchen, which was designed for food lovers. It has cookware, sharp knives and a dutch oven, and is fully stocked with herbs, dry staples and condiments. There's a barbecue outside for grilling, and the stereo sound system is connected to the patio so guests can add a soundtrack to the festivities.

A great vacation home for rent in Joshua Tree.

Additional features

Washer and dryer, iron, air conditioning and heating, hairdryer, parking on premises.

Around

The property is located in Yucca Valley, which is just 15 minutes by car from the Joshua Tree National Park, a huge park of nearly 800,000 acres, filled with creosote bushes, ocotillo and cholla cactus, as well as its namesake trees. It's a great destination for hiking and exploring.

The house is also only a few minutes from local restaurants and shops, and 15 minutes from Pioneertown, a former frontier movie set which took on a life of its own. One of the main attractions there is Pappy & Harriet's, a cool little music venue with a great mesquite barbecue. A little farther afield in Landers is the Integratron, an energy machine said to be located on a powerful geomagnetic vortex.

A car is highly recommended.
