Located in the center of town, this vacation home rental in Athens is a charmingly restored Neoclassical manor house. The subtle restoration has preserved the historic aspects of the home while the interiors have a fresh contemporary update. Quarried stone, striking tile and whitewashed limestone give it a rustic feel which is paired with an eclectic combination of contemporary and antique furnishings and decor. 

There's a fully-equipped kitchen and separate dining area adjacent to the sitting room and a double bedroom that sleeps two, with a sofa bed that accommodates two additional guests. Smartly adapted and well equipped, it's a great base for exploring the city.

AROUND

The apartment is in the very center of Athens in the Thission district between Plaka and Monastiraki, just steps from the Acropolis. Full of little pedestrian streets, it's a mix of Mediterranean, Neoclassical and modern architecture near to the ancient Agora, museums, galleries and lots of cafes and tavernas to sit and watch the street scene and nightlife.

Shrouded in ancient myth and mystery, Athens is the cradle of democracy and responsible for the birth of theater and philosophy. Situated in Parthenon’s shadow, its temples and Byzantine churches, Ottoman era mosques, bars, restaurants, cafes, monuments, and ancient archaeological treasures are all within easy reach to be able to enjoy this densely vibrant city.

For day trips out of the city, the historic seaside settlement of Chamolia along the east coast lies under an hour from the capital. Stretching as far south as Sounion, it is considered modern day Greece’s cosmopolitan Riviera, with water side promenades, resorts, excellent dining and nightlife and gorgeous Blue Flag beaches as well as the nearby archaeological site of Vravrona and the Sanctuary of Artemis.
